Welcome to The Chicago Voice Center

The purpose of this web site is to provide patients with a source of basic information on the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of voice disorders.  It is by no means an in-depth analysis of voice disorders nor does it attempt to diagnose or treat any such disorders.  We hope this site provides a foundation of information which will allow a better understanding of a given disorder should a diagnosis of one be made.  However, it cannot be stressed enough that only an office visit with a complete history and physical examination can be used to diagnose and treat a given problem.

A large percentage of the population including teachers, lawyers, doctors, stockbrokers, singers and actors rely upon their voices for their profession.  However, there are few centers across the country with the expertise that allows experienced, in-depth care for these problems.  The Chicago Voice Center offers comprehensive evaluation and treatment of voice disorders using state-of-the-art equipment and techniques.  Diseases treated range from cancer of the larynx to spasmodic dysphonia, and from vocal cord paralysis to professional voice user problems.  Although the Centers concentrate their efforts on patient care, they are also involved in the education of medical students, residents and the medical and non-medical community via seminars in the prevention and care of voice disorders.  Research involving the evaluation of therapies as well as in the development and advancement of new therapies is also a core aspect of the Centers.

The Chicago Voice Center is associated with some of the finest hospitals in Chicago.  Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center is one of the leading teaching, research and tertiary care centers in Chicago and in the United States.  Evanston Northwestern Healthcare (including Evanston, Glenbrook and Highland Park hospitals) is also a teaching and research institution and it has been repeatedly ranked as one of the top 100 hospitals in the country.

The Chicago Voice Center is affiliated with Otolaryngology Group, a single specialty group diagnosing and treating all aspects of diseases of the ear, nose and throat.
